some people were never meant to be in Hot Weather

Saw this guy on the MTR the other day, and he looked so uncomfortable. Sweat was coming out everywhere.

Nudie Jeans Thin Finn

I used to love Heavy Metal. I had all the good tapes. AC\DC, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Megadeth, GNR, to name a few. And even though I loved this music, it never inspired me to buy tight fitting jeans... Until yesterday.

As a teenager, I really baggy jeans. There were these Deep Indigo Cross Colours Jeans with green stitching that were the bomb. In University, I became a Diesel man. My friend Hugo was the first to turn me onto Diesel Sparkers. And then there was the Energie phase... and back to the Diesel phase... and then khakis for a bit... and so on and so on.

Anyways, the point of the story is that TIGHT fitting garments were never really my thing. However, my standards began to change this year. I dont know how it happened. I used to swear that I would rock baggy jeans forever, but things change.

Here is the tightest pair of jeans I have EVERY owned... NUDIE THIN FINN with DUSTY REPAIR.

new paintball shoes

This is a little late, since I got the shoes last Friday, but I thought I'd share my new paintball shoes.

I actually played with them on Saturday, and they held up quite nicely. They feel like a lightweight running shoe with a very agressive outsole. Good for rough or grassy terrain...

Also features a very durable toecap for whenever your toe area might be rubbing against other stuff like dirt.

LET THE TRASH-TALKING BEGIN

A few days earlier, I spoke, not so fondly, of my friend's choice in Sandals. Today, he has sent me a short but concise email stating the EVILS of my choice of Sandals...

COMMENTS FROM ANONYMOUS FRIEND

Putting aside all that guilt by association mumbo jumbo... Let’s focus on what my good friend neglected to mention.

You see, he spent $400 on these:
Did you know 99% of all items branded with the LV logo are
counterfeit?
It's obvious an extreme majority believe their products are overvalued.

Once you step into these rip-offs, your feet cover the fancy logo.

Even assuming you have an authentic pair of these flip flops... you don't get any foot support, which is the cause of many
health issues like tendonitis.
You don't wear socks unless you want to dress like a dork.
And hiking, what a joke.

Why not save $390 and buy a pair of flip flops at a convenience store? Functionally, they'd be the same. The money saved would go a long way toward buying a ring for your girlfriend... or, God forbid, a pair of Mephisto's.

Join the dark side.

Here are my sandals for your reference:

Badminton

I play badminton for recreation. I guess you can call it a hobby.

I'm not that good, but I dont think I am that bad either. I guess that would make me an average player.

This is me in the elevator about to go play...
Sorry for the crappy pic.

NEW SUNGLASSES

Got new sunglasses today. Apparently, this model was introduced in 1978.
Heres a picture of them from the website...

As you can see, the lenses are interchangable... Green and Mirrored Light Blue.
To me, it's like 2 sunglasses for the price of one!

Paintball Outfit

As mentioned in an earlier post, I will be playing paintball this weekend for the first time in 2 years. With the help of my good friends in California (Brandon & Howie), I was able to get some of the gear I had left behind in San Jose. The package arrived my office this morning. This is what it looked like.

Doesnt look like much now...

After I got home and accessorized a little bit, this is the final product.
Fellas, I cant thank you enough for doing this.

Hey B, you have no idea how excited I am. I'd practically giddy.

The choice of Sandals

A good friend of mine of 20 years, recently had a discussion with me about our respective choices of sandals. This conversation started when he mentioned that he acquired some "quality" sandals in Hawaii for $250 USA smackeroos. Intrigued, my mind was racing to guess what kind of pimp sandals my comrade had purchased. Could they be D&G? YSL, perhaps? or Prada??

"Mephisto" he replied.

Mephisto... now, what exactly is a Mephisto? To me, it sounds like a evil Sea Warrior welding a giant golden trident with gills and scaly skin. But no, after some research, it turns out that Mephisto has much deeper darker roots.

According to wikipedia, Mephisto was the first to join with Lucifer during the rebellion against God at the beginning of time. When the rebel angels were banished from Heaven, Mephisto was the second to fall, after Lucifer. In exchange for his loyalty, Lucifer granted him power in Hell, appointing him his second-in-command.

So, I asked my friend for a picture of his SLIPPERS of SATAN.

As you can see from the picture, they are like hiking boot sandals. Perfect for trekking and kayaking in the Pacific Northwest or more active activities such as rebelling against God.

While these are not my first choice for sandals, let alone footwear, my friend stands by these sandals as Mephisto stood by Lucifer. The words "Comfortable, Durable, Breathability" came up. Im sure they are all those and more, but what do they go with?

It seems like it would be hard to find a pair of jeans that go well with these.
Do you wear these with or without socks? and if so, what color socks? White to contrast? or brown to blend?

I am just not convinced....

Good BF Traits

Not that I need any help in this department, but many of my female readers wanted to get more info on good BF traits. So again I turn to ASKMEN.com for their ever so detailed checklist on GOOD BF TRAITS. 10. You listen: When words come out of her mouth, do you actually pay attention to what is being said, or does your brain just process mumbling sounds while you stare at her chest? A good boyfriend is an active listener, meaning he asks questions and doesn't just sit there, waiting for his turn to speak. Showing her that you have a genuine interest in what she has to say means, among other things, that you respect her opinions and find her interesting; two things that will meet any woman's criteria.

9. You're spontaneous: A great relationship is one that never feels stale. So to avoid having your flames of desire burn out, you have to be unpredictable and mysterious in order to keep her guessing (and on her toes). Whether you whisk her away to a Mexican resort at the last minute or show up, for no apparent reason, with Chinese takeout, wine and a pair of handcuffs (refer to picture), spontaneity can add some real excitement to the romance, and intrigue her all the more. Women love to be swept away in as many different ways as possible; it's up to you to come up with as many ideas as you can.

8. You satisfy her desires: Saying that sex is important would be a gross understatement. A good boyfriend must satisfy his woman's every romantic need (and yes, she should reciprocate). There's a difference between making love just for the sake of it, and being passionate about it. That means never skipping foreplay, sending her soothing messages during the act (Note: it's okay to ask her, point-blank, what she likes), and not falling asleep the minute you're done.

7. You're not whipped: She may feel more empowered by it in the beginning, but in the long run, no woman wants a passive, submissive man who completely compromises his personality to make her happy. Retain your personality, stand by your opinions, and don't give in too easily. Show her that you are strong, confident, and have a spine.

6. You notice small stuff: Did she suddenly get highlights in her hair, shed a few pounds, or buy a new dress? These are all things you need to take note of; most women instinctively flock to guys with keen eyes. It shows that you are attentive and don't skim over life's more subtle details.

5. You give her space: Trust is the foundation of any good relationship. Part of that entails giving her the freedom to have a life separate from yours without asking 20 questions or having jealous fits, and knowing that she's not taking your trust for granted. Keep things in perspective; would you like a girlfriend who kept tabs on every move you made? Probably not, and the same goes for her. And always look for a silver lining; in this case, you'll have time to hang out with your buddies, and have something to talk to her about the next time you see her.

4. You respect her: It's important to avoid letting your ego get the best of you, so if your mentality is stuck in the '50s, you must adjust to changing times. You have to understand that she's an equal part of the relationship, so appreciate her company. Likewise, try to embrace her family early on. In addition to scoring precious points, being kind and courteous toward her parents is a good way to show that you're serious about the relationship. This includes, but is not limited to, bringing the parents thoughtful little gifts every so often, and planning activities that include her whole family, like a picnic. Of course, I'm assuming that you've already survived that dreadful first meeting.

3. You better yourself: Demonstrating what a positive effect your woman has had on you is a fantastic way of gaining leverage. Whether you're getting yourself back into shape, improving your vocabulary, or forgetting about the television long enough to take dance lessons with her, it doesn't matter. Improving yourself is a great way of letting her know she deserves the best, and she'll be flattered that she was the inspiration behind your desire to aim higher.

2. You inspire her too: Likewise, your role in her life should be just as beneficial. You should inspire her to make changes that reflect the positive effect you've had on her. If, for example, you see her letting a great talent go to waste, encourage her; maybe that's all she needs. Don't be afraid to sign her up for an art class, or push her to pursue a career you know she'd be good at. The fact that you care that much about her well-being will make her want to keep you around longer.

1. Make her feel beautiful: Reminding her how beautiful she is comes with making her feel good, and makes you a poster boyfriend. Best of all: simplicity and honesty are all you need. Buy her, say, a card that expresses your appreciation, compliment her at odd times, and if you feel that she's the most gorgeous creature you've ever laid eyes on, be sure to let her know. Women want to look good for their men, and proving to her that you only have eyes for her will be a validation of that.

Chinese Cars

In recent years, China has begun domestically producing many cars under a chinese label.
Since I dont know how to read chinese, I couldnt tell you what brand or model they are.
However, I dont think it would be a wise decision to get a chinese made car. At least not yet.
Here is an example of a Chinese Van.
